Have you ever heard of the expression, “Money cannot buy happiness.” We use this saying most times to describe rich people who aren’t happy. I believe that the expression “Money cannot buy happiness” is true.
I still remember my first pay check. The day I got paid I had the best feeling ever, like I could do anything! Of course I could not do anything because I only got $35.95.
But I went to Wal-Mart with my friend and we blew all of it on idiotic things, like huge bouncy balls, and Nerf guns with a bunch of darts. It was like we were little kids again. We played with everything and did the stupidest things ever, but somehow it was the greatest time! When we tried to explain what we did to our other friends they just didn’t understand. We have all had those times that are a blast, but when you try to tell someone what you did that was so much fun they just look at you like you are an alien. This was one of those times for me. After we were done explaining it our story just didn’t do the experience justice so my friend look at us with a blank look on his face, shook his head and said, “You guys are retarded!”
This was a time when money seemed to buy happiness. Even though it made us have a good time it did not buy happiness. The fun time went away and we got bored again. Money cannot buy you happiness but it can buy fun times. Say you bought a Xbox… Although you love it the fun you have playing it will go away, even though you don’t think that could ever happen. But if you have money to buy something every time you are bored then go for it! But most people do not have that much money. Does that mean that everyone else is mad and bored all the time? No, if anything they are truly happy.
In the life question “Can money buy happiness?” I would have to say no. Money can fun times but it cannot buy happiness. If anything money causes pain.
